Favorites from Magnolia Market

Since moving into our new home (well, really long before actually moving in) we’ve been looking forward to the hunt for furniture and home decor. In the past, we’ve typically picked one place and stuck with it for all room components. Our first house was almost entirely furnished by West Elm. I liked having all the furniture go together… It helped with the flow from room to room. Now, it seems to be all about mis-matching, and I love it. The only problem? I don’t like any of our old stuff. We’re trying to incorporate what we can, but we’re finding ourselves desperately needing an update.

Disclaimer: Absolutely no offense meant towards West Elm. I actually think they’ve done a great job updating their assortment the past year or two, and we’ve definitely incorporated some of their new stuff into our home! We needed a facelift, regardless of where our furniture was originally from.

On any given day, I’m obsessed with a different piece of decor, but I think it’s fair to say that pieces from Magnolia Market win A LOT of the time. We obviously fell in love with Joanna’s style while watching Fixer Upper so jumped at the chance to get a piece of them in our home. The decor adds personality, and  I’ve been so impressed with the quality of the things we’ve purchased. They’ve created these products that are affordable but have an expensive feel.

Trays

I love trays! They’re one of my favorite things. This is going to make me sound a little crazy, but I like trays because they help me “organize” my other decorative pieces. It defines a space.

Our kitchen is all white. It feels very clean, white, simple, and it was definitely in need of some personality. We like the contrast that the metal accents provide, this wire tray being one of them. This tray is more “rough” and rustic than the other metal accents, but it helps with the balance. (The tea towel also happens to be Magnolia Market)

It helps define the space of the beverage center/coffee bar, while also being completely functional. I LOVE the white, somewhat marble-looking countertop we ended up with, but do you know how scared I am of stains?!? We had one scare with red wine and another with vanilla extract (who knew), so a tray is very necessary for any kind of dark beverage.

Vases

Another place we used the metal accents in the kitchen is in the center of each island. Magnolia’s vase game is on point! I literally love them all and want to incorporate them everywhere in our house.

This multi-tube rack is perfect. I hope they stay in stock for a very long time because I want to use them in many more places. It’s industrial, yet delicate. I thought it might be malleable, but the different “stems” are all attached to keep the shape the same. I like that feature because it’s so much easier to lift to clean underneath.

The bulbs are in glass that I thought would break instantly, it looks so delicate. Well, the boys broke my rule of no ball-throwing in the kitchen and knocked over this vase. The glass didn’t even break! (I’m not going to keep testing that durability, though… they definitely got in trouble)

Wall Decor and Organization

I know I already mentioned this one in my post about inspirational signs, but I obviously have to include it again. Jimmy Don… His stuff is beautiful. You also can’t beat the meaningful component behind each piece.

I don’t know if this ladder counts as wall decor or organization, but I think it’s maybe a little of both? On their website, it looks super thin, but once again, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I didn’t know how much it’d be able to hold, but that blanket is really heavy!

As previously mentioned, I LOVE organization. Anything that is meant to help organize will grab my attention. And if it’s also attractive, I’m sold. Please ignore the poor lighting, but I had to show these wire baskets and galvanized mirror we bought for our powder room.

Our powder room is incredibly small, but part of the ceiling goes up kind of high. It was hard to figure out what wall decor would look good in that space, but these wire baskets look perfect in there. We still haven’t figured out the rest, but at least we feel really good about what’s in there:)

Fake Flowers

I’m not usually a fan of fake flowers. That’s a problem since I love vases. Since having kids, keeping up with fresh flowers has been tough. Our grocery and errand list is never-ending, so I don’t get to meander through fresh flowers too often. Therefore, I’ve had to become more accepting of the fake ones. Magnolia Market has definitely helped me out with this.

I never actually would’ve thought to look for flowers on a website, but the first one was given to us along with our first purchase…

I mean…. How great is that? Such a small thing, but it made us happy to find it when we opened our package. We fell in love with Magnolia Market’s tulips there and then, and they earned the spot in our favorite wire vase.

This vase is shown on their website with the rose stems, and it looks pretty incredible. I don’t know why I’m so attached to the tulips in there. I’ll eventually play around with other flowers, I’m sure.

We picked the white succulent for our powder room because we liked the bigger blossom. If I’m being completely honest, I don’t know what a succulent is, and I haven’t looked it up. Looks pretty though!

The rose stem is the other flower we keep around. So pretty! I don’t love these leaves/stems as much as the tulip stems, but the bloom is awesome. It feels like their flowers are made out of some sort of fabric instead of the usual plastic material of fake flowers.

Looking back, that’s a lot of pictures! The funny thing, is that these are only the purchases we’ve actually made. Do you know how many Magnolia Market items are on my “wish list”?? That may have to be another post.
