I am a HUGE sucker for good marketing. It’s not one of my best qualities, just ask my husband, but if you work in the marketing department, I’m what dreams are made of… Just look at our bank account. With the chaos of three kids at home, I’m constantly looking for anything that makes life a little easier. There’s no way I’m alone in that because all the marking is tailored for that exact result. Recently, all our subscriptions started syncing up, and when the packages arrived all at once, it hit me like a ton of bricks…. Hi, I’m Annie, and I have a shopping problem.
I would love to tell you that I’ve gotten help, cancelled all my subscriptions, and am back to focusing on our budget. The problem is, when I actually go to do that, I’m reminded that I kind of love all of it! Some are “nice-to-haves”, but some legit save money in the long run. I’m trying to turn my “problem” into a positive by at least sharing some info on the products I’ve recently started using. I am happy to be a guinea pig when it comes to fun new stuff!
Quip Toothbrush – This one I LOVE. Not only is it functional, but it looks so awesome in our bathroom. I absolutely love functional decor haha. If I’m being completely honest, the sleek look of it is probably my favorite part. As far as an electronic toothbrush goes, it’s decently affordable. I love that they send a new brush head in the mail every few months, so you have a built-in reminder to change out your toothbrush. (We take oral health VERY seriously in my family after what happened to my sister, post here… warning, it’s deep… so regularly cleaning and swapping out toothbrushes is a must)
Depending on what style you choose, the cost up front is $25 – $55. Then it’s $5 every few months for the replacement head and batteries. This is only the second electronic toothbrush we’ve tried, so I know I’m not an expert. We used to have the Dazzle Pro, but the vibration felt a little too strong to me. This vibration is much more low key. I don’t know if it’s a real thing, but I think too strong a vibration could be bad for your gums? All I know for sure is that the Quip is SO pretty haha.
Billie Razor – This advertisement is all over the place, and I gotta say… It’s AMAZING. This is one of the best razors I’ve used. I have extremely sensitive skin, and this razor doesn’t bother my skin at all. And again, the fact that I don’t have to think about the replacement timeline is a big win. This one starts at $9, and you can customize how often you need replacements. If you click on the link, it takes you to their main page… it’s kind of graphic haha… you’ve been warned.
Human Kind deodorant – I wish I could say that my only motivation for using this deodorant was the positive impact it has on the environment. It’s definitely a huge perk, but I gotta say, I love the look of this one too. I can’t get enough of clean, simple marketing. Reducing plastic waste totally justified the purchase. I started using this deodorant when pregnant/nursing my third because I was looking for a natural deodorant. I’ve tried a ton of different natural deodorants in the past, and I’ve obviously never found one that works as well as the good old antiperspirants. This one is in line with a handful of other natural deodorants that I’ve found to be decent. This starts at $14.95, and you can customize how often you get the replacement sent.
Bits Toothpaste – Along the same lines as the deodorant, this is another product that’s good for the environment. I don’t have a good photo of this one because this is one subscription we recently stopped using. It’s definitely not because it’s a bad product, just personal preference. Back to the oral health thing, I tend to use a lot of toothpaste. These little “pills” of toothpaste weren’t quite enough for me, so I’d use two or three each time I brushed my teeth. We just ran through them too quickly. If that kind of thing doesn’t bother you, I was a HUGE fan of this concept and product.
Daily Harvest – This is the only one on the list that isn’t super recent, but we love it so much, I thought it was worth mentioning. It’s a food delivery service, but for things like smoothies and soups. I started getting this when we found out we were pregnant with Kate. I needed an EASY and healthy food option for myself and my kids, that they would actually eat. It’s definitely not cheap, but we figured out how to replace certain groceries to make up for the cost. It delivers once a week, but you don’t have to have it delivery that often. We will cancel weeks whenever our freezer gets full of them, but we go through them pretty fast. I did a little review of these when I first tried them couple years ago… post here.
Kimera Koffee – This is kind of a random one, but it arrived at the same time as all these others, so it’s on my mind. We started doing Bulletproof Coffee a few years ago, and this is the coffee we prefer to use with it. If you haven’t heard of bulletproof coffee, it’s the clarified butter, coconut oil, coffee combo that people have been talking about for a few years now. We’ve been drinking this every morning for the past two or three years, but this Kimera Koffee is new for us. Joe has done a ton of research on the best kind of coffee…. I think it has something to do with mold?… and this was the brand that he landed on. They’ve been awesome with customer service, and we get a pack of this ground coffee delivered to our door every week.
I’m sure this won’t be the last of the ads I fall for, so I will update if I give anything else a try. Overall, I’ve been really impressed with all of the above!
