Award Season Cocktails!

This may seem like a random title for this grouping of cocktails, but I’m not sure what else to name the period between Christmas and February. And it’s accurate! Between the award shows and The Bachelor, there are a lot of opportunities to get together with a bunch of friends and a fun cocktail! I tried to incorporate some sort of “bubbly” element into each cocktail to give them all the celebratory vibes. (Although, I’m not sure what there is the celebrate with The Bachelor)

This round of drinks is crazy simple! The nice part about that is that there are only a handful of ingredients required to make all 5 of these. (Soon to be 6… I will update next week) That means, if you’re hosting a party, you could offer a wide variety of drinks by having these things on hand. Here is the total list of ingredients, and I’ll break them down by cocktail below…

“Overall” Ingredients

  • Champagne/Prosecco
  • Ginger Liqueur (I used Domaine De Canton)
  • Elderberry Liqueur (I used St. Germain)
  • Red Simple Syrup (I used Blackberry & Spiced Cranberry – linked below)
  • Vodka
  • Cucumber Vodka
  • Club Soda
  • Lime

Ok, so not just a handful haha…. Still, not that bad for so many good options!

.

Red Rose Champagne Cocktail

1 oz Vodka

1 Oz Spiced Cranberry Simple Syrup (linked here)

1 Oz Ginger Liqueur

Champagne/Prosecco (Top off the glass)

I’m not sure if all simple syrups would work this way, but I loved how the syrup partially settled in the bottom and got lighter towards the top. Super cheesy reaction to it, but it totally gave off rose vibes! I made this cocktail with The Bachelor premier in mind, so it was perfect. The addition of the vodka definitely added some sharpness and strength, but the sweetness of the syrup and liqueur contradicted that to make a really good pairing.

.

Champagne and St. Germain

3/4 Oz Elderflower Liqueur ( I used St. Germain)

Champagne/Prosecco

By far, one of the simplest cocktails I make, but one of my absolute favorites! You can adjust the amount of St. Germain to taste. It’s pretty sweet, which I love. If you’re not into sweet cocktails, just use a little less of the elderflower liqueur.

.

St. Germain/Blackberry Champagne Cocktail

3/4 Oz St Germain

3/4 Oz Blackberry Simple Syrup (linked here)

1 Oz Vodka

Champagne/Prosecco (top off the glass)

Another strong but delicious combination! And I just can’t get enough of this pretty color. Another obvious use for these pink-colored cocktails would be, of course, Valentine’s Day!

.

Cucumber Fizz

1.5 Oz Cucumber Vodka

Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

Topped off with Club Soda

One of my go-to cocktails is simply Sprite with Vodka. Make it Cucumber Vodka, and you’ve hit a home run. It’s refreshingly sweet and easy. Since the “theme” is Award Season, and it is January after all, I wanted to make a healthier option. This cocktail still has the amazing-ness of Cucumber Vodka, but using club soda and lime juice, you take away the added sugar. It still was delicious, and it basically transports you to a spa.

.

Cucumber Mule

1.5 Oz Cucumber Vodka

Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

Topped off with Club Soda

I should have listed this one towards the top because it’s AWESOME. If you follow along on Instagram, you know that I have a deep love for Ginger Beer. I think it is the most refreshingly spiced way to drink Vodka, and I can’t say enough good things. This version was only made better with the freshness of the cucumber added in. Huge win!

These photos don’t do these cocktails justice since I’m not a food photographer. The taste totally makes up for that!
