Vintage Christmas Tablescape

One of the things I’m LOVING this year is all the vintage pieces people have incorporated into their Christmas decor. Specifically, I’m loving the antique sleds, ice skates, and all the gorgeous kitchenware. Anyone else loving all the vintage santa mugs sprinkled around?? I’ve always had a huge respect for cool antique items, but I struggle knowing where to go to find them.

When we first moved to Maryland, we found an amazing vintage market. I was instantly obsessed, and I got a few cool pieces! Right after I got hooked, it closed down, and I was lost again. While on the hunt for a local place to go to for antique items, I came across a couple Instagram “antique shops”. The fact that I can go thrifting from the comfort of my own couch is incredible.

There’s even a level of excitement involved because certain items go very quickly. You have to be watching closely and ready to pounce the moment you see something you like. These glasses from The Gathering Company Market (tagged on my Instagram page) were one of the things I was able to grab, and I’m in LOVE. I instantly knew I had to incorporate them into some kind of Christmas Tablescape.

I wanted the tablescape to be pretty simple, not overcrowded. As I’ve mentioned before, I feel like negative space can really accomplish a lot (especially when the negative space involved this gorgeous wood). This shot from above is a good display of the clean lines I was going for with the runner and place settings. I just should have obviously snapped it AFTER I was done laying the silverware.

I needed more than just the glasses, so I went on the hunt for anything else that matched the vintage vibe. I had gotten these bottle brush trees from Target for the kitchen, but they felt like the right centerpiece for this theme. I honestly wish I had about 4 more to better fill the length of the table!

I already had the black plates on hand, so when I came across these items from the Hearth & Hand line at Target, I knew they would fit right in. I love the perfectly colored green napkins (linked here) and the rustic appetizer plates (linked here). My favorite detail is probably using greenery as napkin rings. Since I didn’t have greenery running down the center for once, I still loved getting to incorporate it somewhere.

The rose gold mercury ornament garland was a no-brainer for this tablescape. To me, these mercury glass ornaments are the perfect display of what I love about vintage. I could seriously look at them all day and am probably going to keep them out in some way even outside of the holiday season.

The rose gold option looks to be sold out, but I’ve linked the “frosty” option here, which is absolutely gorgeous!

Last, but not least, I thought this tablescape would be a great place to incorporate this gorgeous table runner detail! I have always loved a good cascading runner, but I thought this was a super unique spin, and I loved how the greenery was incorporated.

At this angle, you’re able to see the opening I created with the tablecloth to give me a place to tuck what I didn’t want seen. The base of the trees are folded into this crease, as well as the battery pack for the lights. Much more visually appealing!

I had a ton of fun going outside of my “norm” with decorating and exploring more of the vintage side of things. I’m already thinking about all the things I want to start hunting for to incorporate into our holiday decor next year!
