Patio Upgrade with BHG x Walmart Furniture!

We lived in our house for almost two years without using our back patio – we had no furniture and no ambiance. That needed to change, so it was time for a patio upgrade.

Thanks to Better Homes and Gardens for sponsoring this project! Sponsored posts mean so much to the behind-the-scenes at Champagne Chaos, and I appreciate your support of the brands that support me!

The Expensive Part

We had to have the brick re-graded when we moved in two years ago. Next, we added yard drains to help with the water pooling issue, and then we pretty much stopped working on the space.

The Fun Part

Better Homes and Gardens has a line of products at Walmart, and when they reached out about working together, I jumped at the chance. Their stuff is awesome, and getting to dream up a fun space and make a mood board with my favorite finds was so fun.

The Exciting Part

Power-washing the deck was the first step and made a huge difference. You can hire this out, but honestly power washing is a fun task, and isn’t difficult at all. You can rent a power washer, or buy a small one for a really reasonable price!

Adding the lights was next. We ended up using 4 strands of the lights. We just attached them to the downspouts and trees with zip ties.

Those beautiful, dark green, tall trees pictured in the above right picture are the trees we bought to help cover up all of the bare branches. Those trees made such a huge difference, and I’m in love.

I took the tags off before I wrote down the type, but I’m 99% sure they are these Arborvitae. You can probably take a photo to your local nursery and they’ll have something similar!

The outdoor furniture was simple to put together, and as soon as we did that, the project was done and it was time to style it all and make it pretty!

Outdoor Furniture Set

You can’t really do a great patio upgrade without outdoor furniture. We are so impressed with the quality of the furniture we chose. I LOVE the black rope detail on the arms. This small-space conversation set is both comfortable and classy.

We also got a wicker set for the deck, and we love that this created two conversation circles. We’re going to enjoy being outside in style!

The amount of cushions and pillows make this space SO cozy, but I’ll need to figure out good storage for when not in use. We’re currently keeping them in a bag on our screened-in porch. I’d love to build something outside… stay tuned!

Finished patio upgrade: string lights cross overhead, there are two seating areas, a fire pit, and lots of plants and newly potted trees.

Patio Upgrade Vibes

By far, the best part of the patio upgrade is the vibe it gives off at night. The twinkle lights and glow of the fire make it feel so cozy and romantic. These string lights and this fire pit are the perfect combo to achieve the vibe we wanted… Love love love!
